Contents
Per 5 mL Bromhexine HCl 4 mg, guaifenesin 100 mg
Indications/Uses
Secretolytic & expectorant therapy in acute & chronic bronchopulmonary diseases associated w/ abnormal mucus secretion & impaired mucus transport.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr 10 mL tid. Childn 6-12 yr 5 mL tid, 2-6 yr 2.5 mL tid.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Hereditary conditions incompatible w/ excipient of the product. Guaifenesin: Porphyria.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if new skin or mucosal lesions occur. Increase flow of secretions; SJS, TEN; diarrhoea; urinary calculi. Acute resp indications. Not to be taken by patients w/ fructose intolerance. Severe renal or hepatic impairment. Not recommended during pregnancy (1st trimester) & in lactation. Not recommended in childn <2 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Rash, urticaria; nausea, vomiting. Bromhexine: Anaphylactic reaction including anaphylactic shock, angioedema, bronchospasm, pruritus & other hypersensitivity reactions; diarrhoea, upper abdominal pain. Guaifenesin: GI discomfort; dizziness, headache, urolithiasis.
